Student Conduct Review Board Information and Application
Thank you for your interest in the University of Central Florida Student Conduct Board. Service on the board is challenging and satisfying whether you are student, faculty or staff member. It can enhance your academic and/or work experience at the university. Many faculty, staff or students that have served on the board have had a positive experience and believe that their critical thinking and decision making skills were greatly improved over the course of their term.
The Student Conduct Board shall consist of faculty, staff, and students, including justices from the Student Government Association Judicial Council. This hearing body is one of the formal resolution options utilized in the Student Conduct Review Process. The Student Conduct Board is a forum in which students charged with violations of the Rules of Conduct are heard by other UCF community members.
Membership Criteria Expectations:
- Attend mandatory training session on Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Participate in ongoing development workshops.
- Become knowledgeable about all aspects of the Rules of Conduct, which can be found at http://www.osc.sdes.ucf.edu/?id=rulesofconduct .
- Awareness and understanding of the student conduct review process.
- Commitment to hearing participation (approx. 2-3 hours, 1-2 times a month).
- Act as an effective and cooperative group member and maintain confidentiality at all times.
For students only:
- Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA and full-time status
- Must be in good academic and student conduct standing with the university
Student Conduct Board members will become knowledgeable with the University’s policies and procedures, converse with other faculty, staff and/or student board members, and determine the allegations of misconduct and the appropriate sanctions. As a Board member, you will receive continual training and will grow in this leadership position.
Application Selection and Timeline:
- March 16, 2009- Student Conduct Board Information and Application available online. You may print out application and hand it in to our office located in Ferrell Commons 142.
- March 27, 2009- APPLICATION DUE BY 5:00PM
- April 15-21, 2009- Group Interviews
- Early May 2009- New members will be notified
- August 29, 2009- Mandatory training session: 8:00am-5:00pm
